INTRODUCTION TO TOPOLOGY

This little book, seeks to provide the student with some of the elementary definitions, examples counterexamples, and theorems of general topology. Although in writing it concern has been more with introducing the student as gently as possible to the definition-theorem-proof style of contemporary mathematics than with covering a large amount of material, the topics discussed in the book do include most of the basic topological facts that are relevant to a first course in the theory of functions. As a mater of fact, many theorems from the theory of functions will be found in the exercises.
