Many remarkable books have been published about Archimedes in the last decade. At the same time, many distinguished articles have been published. However, it was considered appropriate by the author of this book to publish a book about the life and work of the great mathematician, which would satisfy two basic requirements:

a) To address different ages of readers and scholars without requiring special knowledge and

b) To contain all the known, old and modern, testimonies about the life and work of Archimedes .
