The work of Theophrastus "Characters", due to its social content, presents two firsts. The first is that he "paints", for the first time in the history of mankind, human behavior by classifying men into 30 categories, in which the modern scholar recognizes human characters of our time. The second first is that the "Characters" have made the most editions of the surviving works of Theophrastus. This is due to the fact that this work harmonizes with the human characters of each era.
